Dried herbs vs fresh herbs?

We are using dried herbs. In terms of amount of active ingredients, the difference between these two is insignificant. Moreover, it really depends on biochemical properties of the specific herb and many make a superior extract after being dried. Herbs we use are dried according to low impact technology, which eliminates unnecessary plant’s mass, mostly water. By saving weight we leave smaller carbon footprint.

What is a liquid herbal extract?

A liquid herbal extract is a concentrated solution of active substances with desirable pharmacological properties that is removed (extracted) from tissues of plants by treating it with a solvent, in our case organic grain alcohol.

Which one is better, ordinary herbal mix or liquid herbal extract?

The main difference is that liquid herbal extract contains “released” active ingredients that are no longer kept in a plant cell, hence active ingredients are much easier and faster absorbed by our body. This means that absorption starts already it the mouth capillaries (partially bypassing the liver, which is major deactivator of active ingredients), ensuring higher concentration of desirable molecules in blood stream, their swift delivery to target cells and pharmacological effect.

What herbs in general consist of?

Scientifically approved that plants contain hundreds or thousands of biologically active substances – plant-based compounds with specific biological activities. These are vitamins, minerals, amino acids and especially significant phytochemicals. Depending on formula, they give various pharmacological effects on body and cells, such as: anti-microbial, anti-allergic, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, analgesic, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, stimulation or depressing, anti-aging, anti-oxidant, and so many more.

Why your extracts contain alcohol?

In order to get the best from the plant, we need to use an “agent”. We have been comparing three types of solvents and alcohol demonstrated most stable and efficient showings.

We are using ethanol (organic grain alcohol 39-69%vol.) in order to provide maximum potency and maintain natural balance of biologically active substances.

Ethanol is a great carrying agent, which facilitates the absorption of the herbal constituents into the bloodstream. It is an excellent natural preservative, which maximizes the shelf life of the extracts.

Are your ingredients GMO free?

Our extracts don’t contain GMO ingredients. Majority of plants are harvested from wild, ecologically clean areas of the Himalayan region (Pemako, the foothills of Mount Everest, Yolmo, Lapchi). Some herbs are grown on a private plantations of Dr. Sherab in Nepal and Bhutan on appropriate altitude.

Are there any notable differences in product batches?

All naturally occurring substances throughout their formation are in contact with nature and their composition strongly depends on the environment that were surrounding the substance. That’s why there is certain insignificant variation from batch to batch, but the core active ingredient’s matrix that is actualizing the effect on the body, remains the same.

Are your products vegetarian/vegan?

Most Daknang product formulas don’t contain animal origin products and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

There are 4 exceptions that contain organic honey: Daknang 21 (Sun vitality), Daknang 108 (Balance formula), Daknang 69 (Libido formula / Men power), Daknang 100 (Meditation formula).

Daknang 25, Daknang 69 and Himalayan Wild Cordyceps - all contain wild cordyceps caterpillar.

Multi-component herbal recipes are at the center of Traditional Tibetan Medicine, providing a unique, advantageous and safe treatment practice. They offer time-proven solutions for health and longevity due to its unique ability to restore proper balance and harmony inside the body organs and energy systems. Properly combined herbs may work in cumulative and synergetic manner increasing each other properties (e.g. curcuma and pepper). Moreover, balanced combination of herbs ensures proper distribution of their pharmacological effects and eliminate potential side-effects.

What is difference between this and other available food supplements/ herbal products?

Our products are unique because formulas are based on experience of 2500 year old Traditional Tibetan Medicine; manufacturing process if supervised by Dr. Sherab Tenzin; we are using naturally occurring plants from Himalayan region; we apply innovative ultrasonic-assisted cold extraction technology and final product is made in Europe according to EU standards; our liquid extracts are effective and easy to use.

HOW TO USE

Can I take herbal food supplements when pregnant?

Always consult your doctor before taking ANY food supplement during pregnancy.

Before using your supplements should I consult doctor?

It is always preferable to consult your doctor before using food supplements, however it is not obligatory, because herbs used in formulas, have been checked by regulatory authorities and dosage has been calculated according to recommended daily allowance standards.

How long should I take supplement?

No one can ever tell exactly for how long supplement or even medication should be taken, as it always depends on individual parameters (such as age, metabolism, presence of particular or multiple illnesses, duration and severity of troubling symptoms, etc). However we recommend at least 1 month course, during which person will be able to feel the cumulative effect of active ingredients. If troubling symptoms are of chronic nature and person was able to feel beneficial effect within the first month, we would recommend to take 3 months course in order to alleviate those symptoms and to secure their non-occurrence.

However for some acute troubles much shorter periods can be applied. For example, in case of acute cold & cough, Daknang 3 can be taken as soon as symptoms appear until complete cessation. Or in case of insomnia due to acute stress, Daknang 15 can be taken just before sleep for few days. Same goes with food poisoning or digestive troubles and Daknang 6. So it really depends on individual situation. You can read more detail instruction about each formula in HOW TO USE.

How to take liquid supplements?

You should mix 10 drops in glass of warm boiled water. Although boiled water is inferior to spring water regarding its mineral content, from Tibetan Medicine point of view it is considered much superior carrying agent. It soothes and activates stomach and intestines, facilitates absorptions of active ingredients, improves circulation (just as warm bath) and delivery. However if boiled warm water is not available, you may take it with regular clean water.

After adding 10 drops, we suggest to stir the mixture and let it sit for 2-3 min, so that extract would completely dissolve within water. We use organic grain alcohol (39-69%vol.) and without this step with first sip we would drink very concentrated solution which could irritate sensitive linings of gastrointestinal tract. So in order to prevent discomfort and possible irritation, please follow the steps above.

Can I take it together with other supplements or medications?

Generally yes, you may take it in the same day as other supplements/ medications.

However in order to prevent cross-reactions we suggest to take it at least 1 hour before or after other supplements and at least 2 hours before or after medications.

Why choose health sets?

Each Health set includes 3 products in order to achieve maximum benefit and effectiveness. These sets are designed to target at least three aspects –organ/system of disfunction, digestive system and nervous system. Taking herbal blends 3 times a day will provide sustainable changes and long-term effect on your body.
